More than $42,000 in cash and jewelry vanished from the home of a retired San Juan man, who reported the items missing late Tuesday night.
Around 11.07 a.m. on Wednesday, the 65-year-old of Laventille Road, Febeau Village, reported to the San Juan Police Station to report that his savings and valuables had been stolen from inside his home.
He told investigators that sometime in August he placed $27,000 in cash inside an ice-cream bucket and secured it in a wooden wardrobe in his bedroom, along with an assortment of jewelry valued at $15,200. He said he last saw the items around 8 a.m. on November 18.
