Po­lice and fire of­fi­cers re­mained at the Of­fice of the Prime Min­is­ter on St Clair Av­enue up to 1 pm to­day as part of a de­tailed search of the build­ing fol­low­ing an emer­gency evac­u­a­tion.

Po­lice said a work­er went to the fe­male wash­room on the sec­ond floor around 9.34 am when she saw the words “Evac­u­ate bomb on the sec­ond floor” writ­ten on one of the mir­rors.

The act­ing deputy per­ma­nent sec­re­tary was in­formed and or­gan­ised the evac­u­a­tion through the health and safe­ty of­fi­cer. Work­ers were moved to the near­by Nel­son Man­dela Park un­til the build­ing was de­clared safe for re-en­try by mid­day.
