Police and fire officers remained at the Office of the Prime Minister on St Clair Avenue up to 1 pm today as part of a detailed search of the building following an emergency evacuation.
Police said a worker went to the female washroom on the second floor around 9.34 am when she saw the words “Evacuate bomb on the second floor” written on one of the mirrors.
The acting deputy permanent secretary was informed and organised the evacuation through the health and safety officer. Workers were moved to the nearby Nelson Mandela Park until the building was declared safe for re-entry by midday.
