A REDUCTION of the proposed 400 per cent tax on gaming machines is currently under review by Finance Minister Davendranath Tancoo after a meeting with the TT Coalition of Bars & Restaurants (TTCOBAR) and the Barkeepers/Operators Association of TT (BOATT) on December 11.
“We did get the assurances of the minister that what we have asked for will be looked upon favourably,” a TTCOBAR representative told Newsday via phone.
Although not giving a figure, he said the proposed reduction would allow for tax compliance by operators while ensuring the increase is reasonable.
