PUBLIC relations officer of the Concerned Muslims of Trinidad and Tobago Imtiaz Mohammed has accused the Government of Islamophobia following the designation of three Middle Eastern organisationsâHezbollah, Hamas and the Islamic Revolutionaryâas terrorist entities.
In a release Monday, Mohammed questioned this countryâs independence following the move.
âIs Trinidad and Tobago truly an independent state? Why is T&T Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar so deeply influenced by the United States of America? I would like to say those who occupy the seats of our Parliament that âone manâs terrorist is another manâs freedom fighterâ.â After reading three applications by the Attorney General of T&T for declaratory orders against Hezbollah, Hamas and others, I can only conclude, our T&T Government is partnering with the United States of America (USA) and Israel to stigmatise Muslims locally and internationally,â he said.
