PUBLIC relations officer of the Concerned Muslims of Trinidad and Tobago Imtiaz Mohammed has accused the Government of Islamophobia following the designation of three Middle Eastern organisations—Hezbollah, Hamas and the Islamic Revolutionary—as terrorist entities.
In a release Monday, Mohammed questioned this country’s independence following the move.
“Is Trinidad and Tobago truly an independent state? Why is T&T Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar so deeply influenced by the United States of America? I would like to say those who occupy the seats of our Parliament that ‘one man’s terrorist is another man’s freedom fighter’.” After reading three applications by the Attorney General of T&T for declaratory orders against Hezbollah, Hamas and others, I can only conclude, our T&T Government is partnering with the United States of America (USA) and Israel to stigmatise Muslims locally and internationally,” he said.
