Energy firm Perenco has finalized the acquisition of the Greater Angostura oil and gas assets from Woodside Energy, significantly expanding its operations and production footprint in Trinidad and Tobago.
The deal, completed on July 11, includes two Woodside Energy entities, operatorship of the 2(C) and 3(A) Production Sharing Contracts, and related offshore and onshore infrastructure. The Greater Angostura fields currently produce approximately 300 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd), or 50,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boepd), roughly 12% of the country’s total gas output.
This acquisition, combined with Perenco’s existing Teak, Samaan and Poui (TSP) and CAFI (Cashima, Amherstia, Flamboyant, Immortelle) fields, raises the company’s gross production above 100,000 boepd, making it one of the top three producers in Trinidad and Tobago.
