Following a court ruling, jet ski operators under the Tobago Water and Trails Association say they are ready and willing to comply with safety measures.
The Association was one of several defendants named in an injunction brought by the Tobago House of Assembly to regulate jet ski operations within the Buccoo Reef Marine Park following an accident which resulted in the death of a seven-year-old child in April.
According to the President of the Tobago Water and Trails Association, Ricardo Alfred, court orders for jet skis to stay 100 metres away from designated bathing areas, operate at no more than five miles per hour near shorelines, and restrict operations within the Nylon Pool are considered “fair.”
