Rosemarie Abed has been elected president of the Syrian Lebanese Women’s Association for 2026.
The association held its annual elections on January 21. Abed, who served as vice president for the past two years, was chosen to lead the organisation. Fourteen women were elected to serve on the committee for the year. The committee includes returning and new members.
In her farewell address, outgoing President Genevieve Hadeed reflected on 75 years of work by the association and the role of members in supporting its activities. She also addressed the growth of the organisation over that period.
