TransÂport and CivÂil AviÂaÂtion MinÂisÂter Eli ZaÂkÂour says the new ANR RobinÂson InÂterÂnaÂtionÂal AirÂport terÂmiÂnal has not yet been handÂed over to his minÂistry, and he has no word on when that will hapÂpen.
SpeakÂing at ThursÂday’s post-CabÂiÂnet meÂdia briefÂing, ZaÂkÂour exÂplained that the terÂmiÂnal reÂmains unÂder the MinÂistry of Works and InÂfraÂstrucÂture. He said there was no upÂdate on what caused the deÂlay in transÂferÂring it, but the hanÂdover was still exÂpectÂed soon.
EarÂliÂer this month, Works MinÂisÂter JearÂlean John said the NaÂtionÂal InÂfraÂstrucÂture DeÂvelÂopÂment ComÂpaÂny (NIDÂCO) was carÂryÂing out walk-throughs with the AirÂports AuÂthorÂiÂty at the new faÂcilÂiÂty. She inÂdiÂcatÂed that the aim was to hand over the buildÂing by mid-AuÂgust. Once that process is comÂpletÂed, the AirÂports AuÂthorÂiÂty, which falls unÂder ZaÂkÂour’s minÂistry, will deÂterÂmine when the terÂmiÂnal opens to pasÂsenÂgers.
