A 32-year-old man of Gulf View, La RoÂmain, esÂcaped death afÂter he was amÂbushed by gunÂmen afÂter leavÂing his friend’s home in Siparia yesÂterÂday mornÂing. He told poÂlice he was limÂing at his friend’s home at Seukaran Trace, SaltÂmine Trace, Thick VilÂlage, but left around 12.10 am.
While driÂving in his white Hyundai H100 van along a priÂvate roadÂway from his friend’s yard, he heard sevÂerÂal rapid gunÂshots and stopped. In front of his car, he saw two gunÂmen wearÂing black hoodÂies who fired at him. FearÂing for his life, he quickÂly reÂversed inÂto a yard, hurÂriedÂly exÂitÂed his veÂhiÂcle and ran toÂwards his friend’s home. It was onÂly then he reÂalised that he had been shot in his abÂdomen and left leg. He was takÂen to the Siparia DisÂtrict Health FaÂcilÂiÂty and transÂferred to the San FerÂnanÂdo GenÂerÂal HosÂpiÂtal in staÂble conÂdiÂtion.
