The Ethnic Relations Commission (ERC) today brought together Commissioners, representatives of constitutional commissions and the staff of its secretariat for a solemn service of Prayer and Reflection in memory of the victims of the MV Barima Tragedy.
Held at the Commission’s 66 Peter Rose and Anira Streets, Queenstown, Georgetown location, the observance provided an opportunity for collective mourning, reflection and solidarity as Guyana continues to come to terms with one of the nation’s most heartbreaking tragedies.
The programme, themed “In Our Hearts. In Our Prayers. Forever Remembered,” was officiated by the Commission’s Chief Executive Officer, Ms. Gomin Camacho, who reflected on the importance of unity, compassion and hope during times of national grief.
