OPPOSITION Leader Pennelope Beckles says Arima Mayor Balliram “Bally” Maharaj has indicated “we should see an effective resignation within the short time”.
She was speaking at a Lenten hamper and treats distribution hosted by Port of Spain South MP Keith Scotland at his Piccadilly Greens, Port of Spain, office, yesterday.
“I had a meeting with the Mayor of Arima and we discussed the matter. It was a period of two years. We are dealing with it internally. He indicated when he accepted the position it was for two years. He has indicated he will resign.”
