HAMILTON, Bermuda, CMC – Health authorities in Bermuda are warning of an increase in respiratory illnesses, including COVID-19, in recent weeks and are urging the public to take the necessary precautions.
The Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit and the Ministry of Health, while not providing any figures, said most people are experiencing symptoms, but are reinforcing that basic prevention helps protect vulnerable individuals and reduces disruption across workplaces and households.
“Members of the public who are feeling unwell, particularly those experiencing fever, cough, sore throat, congestion, body aches, or loss of taste or smell, are encouraged to stay home until symptoms improve and to avoid close contact with others, especially older adults or people with chronic conditions. Anyone with these symptoms should consider testing for COVID-19.
