Local Muslim groups are urging Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar to raise concerns about discrimination and prejudice against Muslims in India during her bilateral talks with India’s Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.
The Islamic Da’wah Movement stated in a media release yesterday that India has one of the world’s largest Muslim populations, comprising around 200 million people.
It further stated that since India’s independence, Muslims have often faced discrimination, prejudice and violence, despite constitutional protections.
