“Vote for me as your Prime Minister and I will fight for that (Venezuelan) gas. I will fight like I have never fought before.”
So promised Prime Minister Stuart Young as he delivered a final speech in the 2025 general election campaign yesterday. Addressing the large crowd at the party’s rally at the Eddie Hart Grounds, Tacarigua, Young also had a message for the elderly—don’t be afraid, the PNM will not touch their pensions.
“I repeat it again right here today, with Trinidad and Tobago as my witness...I say ignore the lies of the United National Congress and its friends. We are not touching the senior citizen pension. We are not moving the goalposts. We are not taking away your pension. Your pension is safe with the PNM,” he assured.
