A 39-year-old Diego Martin businessman is in police custody following the seizure of cocaine and cannabis valued at more than TT$20.8 million during a targeted operation in the Western Division on Thursday night.
The joint exercise, conducted between 6 pm and 11:30 pm on August 14, involved officers of the Northern Division Task Force (Area South) and a specialist unit of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS).
Acting on intelligence, police searched a business establishment in the Glencoe district owned by the suspect, where they found quantities of cannabis and cocaine in a locked room. Further searches at his Diego Martin residence uncovered additional drugs.
