A 39-year-old Diego Mar­tin busi­ness­man is in po­lice cus­tody fol­low­ing the seizure of co­caine and cannabis val­ued at more than TT$20.8 mil­lion dur­ing a tar­get­ed op­er­a­tion in the West­ern Di­vi­sion on Thurs­day night.

The joint ex­er­cise, con­duct­ed be­tween 6 pm and 11:30 pm on Au­gust 14, in­volved of­fi­cers of the North­ern Di­vi­sion Task Force (Area South) and a spe­cial­ist unit of the Trinidad and To­ba­go Po­lice Ser­vice (TTPS).

Act­ing on in­tel­li­gence, po­lice searched a busi­ness es­tab­lish­ment in the Glen­coe dis­trict owned by the sus­pect, where they found quan­ti­ties of cannabis and co­caine in a locked room. Fur­ther search­es at his Diego Mar­tin res­i­dence un­cov­ered ad­di­tion­al drugs.
