St Joseph residents are calling for something to be done with the abandoned Andrews Sugar Factory, whether it be turning it into a farmersâ market, museum or major enterprise like the repurposed Haymans Factory in St Peter.
And Member of Parliament for St Joseph, Ryan Brathwaite, has given the idea his full support after the Parish Independence Committee recently staged a successful event there.
Brathwaite said residents had approached him about starting with something as small as a farmersâ market, but he was thinking much bigger.
