Just hours after Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodriguez announced stakeholders’ intent to suspend all gas agreements with Trinidad and Tobago, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro announced that he approved the measure.
The proposal was presented to him today by Rodriguez and State-owned company Petróleos de Venezuela, S.A. (PDVSA), one day after Venezuela accused Trinidad and Tobago of collaborating with the United States on a false-flag operation it claims is being carried out as the US warship USS Gravely is docked in Port of Spain.
Rodriguez earlier said that a meeting was held with the Venezuelan Ministry of Popular Power for Petroleum and PDVSA’s board of directors, and its Ministry of Finance yesterday following which the decision was made to make the proposal to Maduro.
