Government Minister Delano Seiveright has expressed regret over a social media post concerning the pilot rollout of a product by the Barita Financial Group, acknowledging that his comments may have created an “unfair impression” of the initiative. The minister has also issued an apology to the board and management of Barita, and has withdrawn the post.
“Having received further clarification, I regret any unfair impression my earlier posts may have created about Barita,” Seiveright said in a subsequent post on social media. “I apologise to its Board and staff, Chairman Mark Myers, CD, & Deputy Chairman Paul Simpson, CD, and have withdrawn the posts.
“I welcome Barita’s initiative, wish it continued success and remain committed to these broader principles,” he said.
