Minister of Foreign Affairs Sean Sobers says that US military intervention in Caribbean waters have resulted in a drop in crime within Trinidad and Tobago.
Sobers referred to crime statistics during a press conference earlier today during which he discussed the US’ removal of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro from Caracas yesterday. He stated that the government maintained a peaceful relationship with the people of Venezuela and that all T&T citizens in the South American country had been deemed safe.
Asked about the US’ indictment of Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores, both transported via US warship where they will face criminal charges for drug trafficking and other alleged crimes, Sobers directed questions to the White House.
