Marvin "Crusher" Rugette, 52, of Beetham Gardens has been charged with a child's murder, a release from the police said on May 27.

The release added that the charge was laid after investigators received instructions to do so from Director of Public Prosecutions, Roger Gaspard, SC. Rugette is expected to appear before a Port of Spain Magistrate "in due course."

The charge stems from the death of Angelo Farrel, two, who was allegedly beaten on November 18, 2023, at Beetham Gardens. Medical treatment was sought for the child at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex, Mt Hope, but he died on November 23, 2023.
