Traffic police need reinforcements

(Kaieteur News) – Dem boys seh every morning, traffic police in Guyana deserve a medal, a bonus and possibly a breakfast allowance. From early morning, dem ranks out pon de road, waving dem hands, blowing dem whistles and trying to make traffic move as though dem conducting a symphony orchestra.

But dem traffic ranks can only do so much. A man can have two hands and the patience of a saint, but he cannot grow six more arms to control six different streams of traffic. These ranks are being asked to perform miracles with manpower that does not always match de magnitude of de madness.
