Doctor cleared in cerebral palsy case

A DOCTOR who delivered a baby that was soon after found to have cerebral palsy has been vindicated by the Privy Council after legal action was taken against him by the mother of the now 24-year-old.

The matter came before Lords Lloyd-Jones, Stephens, Doherty and Burnett and Lady Wise.

Aeden Balwah was born at Surgi-Med Clinic in May 2002. Dr Marwan Abdulla was his mother’s obstetrician throughout her pregnancy, and at his birth by Caesarean section.
