The exÂecÂuÂtive of the AviÂaÂtion ComÂmuÂniÂcaÂtion and AlÂlied WorkÂers’ Union (ACAWU) has disÂtanced itÂself from comÂments made by its secÂreÂtary genÂerÂal RuÂdi Atwell at the UnitÂed NaÂtionÂal ConÂgress’ Labour Town Hall meetÂing in TuÂnaÂpuna on ThursÂday.
“The ACAWU wishÂes to adÂvise that the views exÂpressed by secÂreÂtary genÂerÂal Mr RuÂdi Atwell on naÂtionÂal teleÂviÂsion at a poÂlitÂiÂcal parÂty’s Town Hall meetÂing are NOT the views or opinÂions exÂpressed from this curÂrent exÂecÂuÂtive nor our memÂbers,” ACAWU said in a press reÂlease yesÂterÂday.
“The ACAWU conÂtinÂues to use its strength as a sovÂerÂeign union to stand inÂdeÂpenÂdentÂly so as to freely, and unÂbiÂasÂedÂly, hold any exÂecÂuÂtive board or govÂernÂment acÂcountÂable for its acÂtions in dealÂing with its memÂberÂship,” the reÂlease added.
