“I love people, but I don’t like ghosts.”
This was the response from Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar yesterday as she answered questions on the removal of 8,000 “ghosts” from the payroll of the Unemployment Relief Programme (URP).
In a telephone interview with the Express on Thursday, URP manager Feeroz Khan said the daily-paid component of the programme had been suspended.
