As tribÂutes conÂtinÂue to pour in for Dr Slinger “Mighty SparÂrow” FranÂcisÂco, caÂlypÂsoÂniÂans and culÂturÂal figÂures across Trinidad and ToÂbaÂgo are usÂing his death to reafÂfirm the enÂdurÂing place of caÂlypÂso in the naÂtion’s culÂturÂal idenÂtiÂty.
SparÂrow, who died on SunÂday at the age of 91, was reÂmemÂbered at San FerÂnanÂdo City Hall yesÂterÂday, where a conÂdoÂlence book has been opened for memÂbers of the pubÂlic to sign.
