A month-old gov­ern­ment found it­self prepar­ing a Mid-Year Bud­get Re­view and sup­ple­men­tary ap­pro­pri­a­tion, which Prime Min­is­ter Kam­la Per­sad-Bisses­sar framed on June 18 not as rou­tine house­keep­ing but as an ur­gent fis­cal in­ter­ven­tion. She said the ex­er­cise aimed to “find mon­ey, shift mon­ey” to keep pub­lic ser­vices run­ning un­til the end of the fis­cal year.
