A 45-year-old man was shot and injured during a drive-by shooting outside a bar in Orange Valley, Couva, on Thursday.
At around 8:20 p.m., the victim was seated on a chair opposite a local bar in the company of the bar owner, a 61-year-old proprietor, when a silver hatchback Nissan Tiida pulled up alongside them. Two passengers in the vehicle, one in the front and one in the rear seat, allegedly pointed firearms at the victim and fired multiple shots.
The victim fell as the vehicle initially sped off before turning around and heading east. The victim sought refuge inside the bar, and patrons took him to the Couva Health Facility for treatment. He was later transferred to the San Fernando General Hospital.
