A 25-year-old St Anns welder is the coun­try’s lat­est mur­der vic­tim as he was gunned down by men wear­ing po­lice caps and tac­ti­cal gear on Thurs­day af­ter­noon.

Po­lice said Ja­mal Williams and an­oth­er man were lim­ing on Symond Val­ley Road, at around 6.45 pm when they saw a grey Suzu­ki Grand Vi­tara dri­ve along St Anns Road, be­fore re­vers­ing on­to Symond Val­ley Road, even­tu­al­ly stop­ping near­by.

Res­i­dents re­port­ed see­ing three gun­men wear­ing “dark-coloured cloth­ing” with po­lice hats, at least one of whom wore a bul­let­proof vest bear­ing the in­signia ‘Po­lice’ get­ting out of the car.
