Two cousins from Laventille suffered severe injuries during an incident in which they were pinned between two trailers on Carnival Monday in Port-of-Spain.
The women, aged 23 and 24, of Upper St Barb’s Road, Laventille, were participating in the J’Ouvert celebrations in St James, when around 9 am, two bands attempted to pass each other along Damien Street.
As one of the DJs urged revellers to move to the left of their respective trucks, the women allegedly attempted to cross between the two trailers. In doing so, they were pinned between the trailers.
