The NaÂtionÂal Gas ComÂpaÂny of Trinidad and ToÂbaÂgo LimÂitÂed (NGC) has fiÂnalised a maÂjor Gas Sales ConÂtract (GSC) with Methanol HoldÂings (Trinidad) LimÂitÂed (MHTL), the largest methanol proÂducÂer on the Point Lisas EsÂtate. Signed on TuesÂday at NGC’s Point Lisas headÂquarÂters, the agreeÂment marks the sucÂcessÂful conÂcluÂsion of 100 perÂcent of NGC’s gas conÂtract reÂnewals with downÂstream cusÂtomers and ProÂman Group comÂpaÂnies.
The deal comes on the heels of reÂcentÂly seÂcured supÂply agreeÂments for ProÂman’s amÂmoÂnia plants, Caribbean NiÂtroÂgen ComÂpaÂny LimÂitÂed, and NiÂtroÂgen (2000) UnÂlimÂitÂed. UnÂder the new conÂtract, NGC will supÂply natÂurÂal gas to supÂport MHTL’s exÂtenÂsive methanol opÂerÂaÂtions, bolÂsterÂing an inÂdusÂtry that reÂmains critÂiÂcal to naÂtionÂal emÂployÂment, forÂeign exÂchange earnÂings, and ecoÂnomÂic deÂvelÂopÂment.
EnÂerÂgy ofÂfiÂcials notÂed that the conÂtract reÂnewÂal sigÂnals reÂnewed conÂfiÂdence from petroÂchemÂiÂcal proÂducÂers in NGC’s manÂageÂment of the counÂtry’s gas supÂply.
