The imposition of visas for Trinidad and Tobago nationals travelling to the United Kingdom was shocking, unfair and does not augur well for this country, according to political analysts.
The decision by the UK government came following a rise in nationals going to the UK as visitors and then applying for asylum after arrival.
As part of his statement on the issue yesterday, Foreign and Caricom Affairs Minister Dr Amery Browne said, “We have indicated our disappointment with the new visa requirement and will continue our consistent engagement with our UK counterparts.”
