It is too soon to de­ter­mine whether the in­stal­la­tion of a new US mil­i­tary radar sys­tem at ANR Robin­son Air­port will play a sig­nif­i­cant role in the up­com­ing To­ba­go House of As­sem­bly (THA) elec­tions.

Po­lit­i­cal an­a­lyst Dr Shane Mo­hammed said that with­out an an­nounced elec­tion date, it is pre­ma­ture to as­sess whether the radar sit­u­a­tion will in­flu­ence the cam­paign.

“I think it’s too ear­ly right now to see whether there’s go­ing to be an im­pact. First, we need to know when the elec­tion will be, and how that elec­tion date fits in­to the cal­en­dar of events in the weeks to come. Then we can have an­oth­er dis­cus­sion,” Dr Mo­hammed said.
