Bar­ry Padarath, Min­is­ter of Pub­lic Util­i­ties, and Dr Micheal Dowlath, Min­is­ter of Ed­u­ca­tion, led a meet­ing on Wednes­day at the Min­istry of Pub­lic Util­i­ties’ head of­fice in St. Clair to dis­cuss the Gov­ern­ment’s up­com­ing lap­top dis­tri­b­u­tion pro­gramme, set to launch in the new school term be­gin­ning Sep­tem­ber 2025.

Clyde El­der, Min­is­ter in the Min­istry of Pub­lic Util­i­ties, and Edi­lah Elahie, Act­ing Chief Ex­ec­u­tive Of­fi­cer of the Main­te­nance Train­ing and Se­cu­ri­ty Com­pa­ny Lim­it­ed (MTS), al­so at­tend­ed, along with mem­bers of the MTS man­age­ment team.

The meet­ing fo­cused on the col­lab­o­ra­tion re­quired be­tween the Min­istry of Ed­u­ca­tion, MTS, and the Telecom­mu­ni­ca­tions Ser­vices of Trinidad and To­ba­go (TSTT) to sup­port the suc­cess­ful roll­out of the lap­top dis­tri­b­u­tion pro­gramme.
