A 30-year-old Barataria man, who ran away from police officers after being pulled over for reckless driving, has been fined $5,000.
Police said the incident took place on July 19, 2025, when W/Cpl Alves and PC Forde—two officers of the Transit Police Unit (TPU)—were on patrol along the Priority Bus Route near the Aranguez Savannah. They spotted a white Toyota Corolla speeding west along the route.
