Hours after two men were shot dead in Arima and Rampanalgas on Monday night during confrontations with law enforcement who rescued kidnap victim Jankie Satie Karim, police have been placed on high alert following the circulation of a voice note in which individuals discussed plans to kill officers.
In a release issued by the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) late yesterday afternoon, Police Commissioner Allister Guevarro recalled a series of coordinated operations which took place between Monday night and early yesterday.
He said these operations resulted in the safe recovery of Karim, the arrest of a female suspect, and the fatal shooting of two male suspects—one in Rampanalgas and another in Arima.
