BOA rewards Summer Games medallists with $110 000 payout

A total of $110 000 in performance incentives will be distributed by the Barbados Olympic Association Inc. (BOA) to Barbadian athletes and teams who won medals at this year’s Commonwealth and Central American and Caribbean Games.

Commenting on the presentations, BOA President Sandra Osborne said the Association was pleased to provide the performance incentives, noting that the athletes had delivered performances of which the entire country could be proud and demonstrated Barbados’ potential to achieve even greater success.

“Since 2019, the BOA has awarded incentive allowances to Barbadian athletes who have performed with distinction by medalling at major regional and international multi-sport Games. In addition to our Athlete Funding Programme, it is another tangible way to support athletes with the substantial costs of elite training and competition,” Osborne stated.
