Vice-president of the Barbados Olympic Association (BOA) Cameron Burke says it will cost approximately $2.5 million to send Barbados’ teams to this summer’s Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Games in the Dominican Republic and the Commonwealth Games in Scotland.
Burke made the disclosure on Sunday as the BOA unveiled the country’s full squads at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre.
Barbados will field one of its largest delegations to the CAC Games in more than two decades, with 141 athletes set to compete in 24 disciplines from July 24 to August 8. A further 21 athletes will represent the island in six disciplines at the Commonwealth Games.
