As the Youth Football League’s Junior Cup heads into this weekend’s all-island finals at the University of the West Indies, a little-known initiative continues to make a remarkable impact off the field.
Regional competitions in Trelawny, St Catherine, and Kingston and St Andrew have produced four champions who will battle for the all-island title. The programme provided several young players with football boots and other essential playing equipment during the Kingston regional tournament and continues to help remove financial barriers that often prevent children from fully participating in organised football.
