Twenty-seven-year-old Regina McLean has been named Miss Universe Jamaica Hanover 2026 after organisers opted not to stage a parish competition this year. Westmoreland and Hanover Parish Director Hannah Sheree said the decision not to stage a competition was taken because the parish-based structure was introduced after the audition process was already at an advanced stage, resulting in most contestants entering under Westmoreland.
āAs the parish manager for Miss Universe Jamaica Westmoreland and Hanover, I determined that it would be most appropriate to stage the inaugural Miss Universe Jamaica Hanover competition next year. This decision was made because the parish-based structure was introduced after the audition process was already in its advanced stages, resulting in the majority of contestants having entered under the Westmoreland parish,ā Sheree toldĀ The Gleaner, adding, āI look forward to the crowning of two queens (Westmoreland and Hanover) next year from a selection of prospective delegates from both parishes in one pageant.ā
After an impressive showing in the recently held Miss Universe Jamaica Westmoreland competition, McLean placed first runner-up and earned widespread admiration for her grace, intelligence, and authenticity. Sheree described McLean as embodying the qualities of an ambassador and said her authenticity, passion to serve, and ability to inspire make her an exceptional representative for the parish.
