KINGSTON, Jamaica â Jamaican sprint star Shericka Jackson has brought an early end to her 2026 season, revealing that she is taking time away from competition to focus on her mental health.
The 32-year-old Jackson, one of Jamaicaâs leading sprinters, announced the decision in a candid social-media post, on Instagram on Tuesday, admitting that it was not how she wanted her season to end.
âJust when Iâm finally finding my rhythm again, here comes mid-2026 season messing with my mental health,â Jackson wrote, while acknowledging that her journey had been a difficult one.
