SIX expectant juveniles faced the starter on Saturday, August 8, 2026 for the season’s eagerly awaited opening two-year-old contest, and it was Boss Over Boss who announced himself in style.

Trained by Jason DaCosta and ridden by Robert Halledeen, the 6-5 favourite Sooryavanshi was expected to challenge but it was Boss Over Boss who grabbed early control and never looked back.

The start was seamless with all six loading without issue. Trouble came immediately for outermost runner Mandy and Abigail Able, who veered sharply right toward mid-track and destroyed her chances.
