A 31-year-old man is warded at hospital after being stabbed during an argument over the sale of a phone in Couva on Tuesday afternoon.
Police said around 2:40 p.m. the victim, Darren Ramphal, of Charlieville, was standing with his twin brother and a friend at Isaac Junction near Subway, Couva, when he got into a verbal altercation with another man.
During the confrontation, the suspect allegedly pulled a weapon and stabbed Ramphal once in the abdomen. Officers attached to the Couva Charge Room and Community Police Unit responded and escorted the injured man to the Couva Health Facility. He was later transferred to the San Fernando General Hospital for treatment.
