(Kaieteur News) – Adnan Akmal and Sheharyar Ghani punched fifties to help Pakistan rally to a 7-wicket win over India when World Cup action continued yesterday at the Guyana National Stadium, Providence.
Pakistan chasing 143 made by the Indians who batted first, recovered from a rough position of 19-3, all the way to a position of command which saw India’s first innings score not be sufficient on the Providence.
Akmal (63*) with 8 fours and Ghani (63*) struck an unbeaten 125-run partnership to pilot Pakistan to their winning score of 144-3, despite a brilliant haul of 2-18 from Indian spinner Amit Mishra.
