(Kaieteur News) – Former Speaker of the National Assembly, Ralph Ramkarran SC, has once again underlined the importance of having substantive office holders at the head of the judiciary.
In his most recent writings published via blog site Conversation Tree, Ramkarran explained that a narrow opportunity exists for the office holders to become permanent even as he highlighted the risks of undermining the work of the judiciary.
He noted however this is a matter of interpretation of the constitutional provision which speaks to the role of the leader of the opposition in the process of appointing the two head justices.
