Hoteliers in Tobago are counting their losses amid the ongoing challenges facing the inter-island seabridge.
One such hotelier, Kameal Ali, manager of the Blue Horizon Resort and director of the Lowlands Mosque, says the situation has resulted in an estimated 60% loss in revenue due to cancellations, reduced guest arrivals and a downturn in his car rental business.
“When one acts, why would you take out a ferry to dry dock in one of the most busiest times. Secondly, because of the ongoing ferry situation the breakdown of the ferry and so on, it has caused a tremendous hardship on tourists coming, because currently we have a lot of cancellations and most of the hotels in Tobago are affected.” Ali told the Express on Saturday.
