(Kaieteur News) – Guyanese aged 65 and over, who have spent decades living comfortably in Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States, are suddenly discovering that the land of their birth has something more attractive than pepperpot and the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). It has an old-age pension worth more than US$200 a month.

They are arriving, registering for old-age pension, opening bank accounts, collecting their money and then disappearing back to Toronto, New York and Miami.
