(Kaieteur News) – A 25-year-old security guard was shot dead Wednesday night while on duty at a supermarket along the Non Pareil Railway Embankment, East Coast Demerara.
Dead is Keion Wilman of Dazzel Housing Scheme, ECD, who was attacked at about 9:25 p.m, police said in a press release. Police said preliminary investigations revealed that Wilman was stationed in the supermarket’s entrance area when two men reportedly arrived on a motorcycle. One of the men allegedly pulled out a firearm and discharged a shot in Wilman’s direction before the pair fled the scene.
Wilman sustained gunshot injuries to his upper body and was rushed to the Enmore Regional Hospital. He later succumbed to his injuries while receiving medical treatment. Police recovered a suspected warhead and a suspected live 9mm round at the scene.
