(Kaieteur News) – Families and supporters of the MV Barima crew remained steadfast outside the Office of the President on Tuesday, marking the start of the ninth consecutive week of peaceful protests demanding immediate government intervention in the crisis.
Demonstrators continue to press two main demands: the salvage and raising of the submerged vessel MV Barima and the immediate release of its three detained crew members, Delon Grandison, Rondel Roberts and Kevin Price.
What began as a quiet vigil has evolved into a persistent weekly presence along Vlissengen Road. Holding placards calling for the crew members’ release and displaying slogans urging swift action, protesters have made it clear that they intend to maintain their presence until concrete commitments are made.
