An employee of a South Trinidad business family was shot dead yesterday in what police believe was a botched murder attempt which targeted his employer.

The midday attack, which unfolded near the Cross Crossing interchange in San Fernando, is the latest in a series of escalating incidents involving the Maharaj family, owners of R&J Cell Tech and other electronics stores at Gulf City Mall in La ­Romaine.
