(Kaieteur News) – Is Guyana receiving the best value for its share of crude oil? This question remains a mystery as the Government of Guyana has for two consecutive years turned to BB Energy to market its share of profit oil without the rigors of a competitive bidding process.
BB Energy first won a contract in November 2023 to market Guyana’s oil through the National Procurement and Tender Administration Board (NPTAB) where more than 20 firms stated their interest, including ExxonMobil, BP and Shell.
The firm again succeeded in 2024 to secure a contract to sell Guyana’s portion of oil endowment for one year.
